Obelisk Talent Inc. (“Obelisk Talent,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Canadian corporation that connects Canadian businesses with pre-vetted professionals based in the Middle East. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard the personal information of visitors to obelisktalent.ca, prospective clients, applicants to our talent network, and anyone who contacts us.

We operate under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you reside in another jurisdiction, additional rights may apply — contact us and we will address your request.

Information We Collect


Information you provide directly

  • Name, email address, company, and role details when you email us or complete a contact request.
  • CV / résumé, portfolio links, LinkedIn profile, country of residence, and years of experience when you apply to join our talent network.
  • Any content you send us in emails, messages, or call notes.

Information collected automatically

  • Basic log data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies as described in §04 below.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

How We Use Your Information


We use your information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and coordinate discovery calls.
  • Match prospective clients with suitable talent from our network.
  • Evaluate applications to our talent network and communicate with applicants.
  • Operate, maintain, and improve obelisktalent.ca and our services.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce agreements, and protect our rights.

We rely on one of the following legal bases: your consent, performance of a contract, a legitimate business interest (such as responding to your inquiry), or compliance with a legal obligation.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies


obelisktalent.ca uses a small number of cookies:

  • Essential cookies required for the site to function (session state, security tokens).
  • Analytics cookies issued by Postiz, our self-hosted analytics tool — your data never leaves our own infrastructure.

We do not use third-party ad-network cookies, retargeting pixels, or behavioural tracking from services such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not prevent you from accessing any part of this website.

Third-Party Services


To operate our business, we rely on the following third-party processors. Each has been selected with privacy and security in mind; each has its own privacy policy.

  • Zoho CRM (Zoho Corporation Pvt. Ltd., USA / India) — customer relationship management, lead tracking, and sales pipeline.
  • Zoho Mail (Zoho Corporation Pvt. Ltd., USA / India) — inbound and outbound email at @obelisktalent.ca.
  • Supabase (Supabase Inc., USA) — database, authentication, and file storage for internal applications.
  • Postiz — self-hosted social-media management and analytics platform running on our own infrastructure.

We do not share your information with any other third parties except where required by law or where you have given us explicit permission.

Data Storage, Security & Retention


Client inquiries, applicant records, and operational data are stored in Zoho CRM and Supabase. Email correspondence lives in Zoho Mail. These platforms implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access controls, and audit logging.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by Canadian law, whichever is longer:

  • Inquiry and lead records: up to 3 years from the last contact.
  • Applicant records (talent network): up to 2 years from application, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
  • Client contract records: for the duration of the engagement plus 7 years, as required by Canadian tax and corporate law.
  • Website analytics: aggregated indefinitely; individual session data up to 24 months.

No system is perfectly secure. We make commercially reasonable efforts to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights Under PIPEDA


PIPEDA is built on ten fair-information principles. You have the right to:

  • Accountability — hold Obelisk Talent responsible for the personal information under our control.
  • Identifying Purposes — know why we are collecting, using, or disclosing your information.
  • Consent — give meaningful consent, and withdraw it at any time.
  • Limiting Collection — expect us to collect only what is necessary for the identified purposes.
  • Limiting Use, Disclosure & Retention — expect us to use your data only for stated purposes and delete it when no longer needed.
  • Accuracy — request that incomplete or outdated information be corrected.
  • Safeguards — expect reasonable technical and organizational protection of your data.
  • Openness — ask us about our privacy practices at any time.
  • Individual Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Challenging Compliance — raise concerns about our handling of your information, and escalate to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if unresolved.

International Data Transfers


We are based in Nova Scotia, Canada. Some of our third-party processors store or process data in the United States and India (Zoho) or the United States (Supabase). Canadian privacy law permits such transfers provided a comparable level of protection remains in effect; our vendor contracts include appropriate safeguards.

By using obelisktalent.ca or communicating with us, you consent to the transfer of your information to these jurisdictions for the purposes described in this policy.

Children's Privacy


obelisktalent.ca is intended for business professionals and is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy


We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal obligations. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the current version took effect.

Material changes will be announced by updating the page and — where appropriate — by emailing individuals whose contact information we hold. Continued use of obelisktalent.ca after such changes indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
