The Gap We Noticed
After a decade building software in Canada, the pattern was impossible to miss: Canadian SMBs were drowning in $80–130K salary bands while deeply capable Middle Eastern engineers shipped for global enterprises at a fraction of the cost. No Canadian-incorporated partner existed to bridge the two — so we built one.
Built Infrastructure First
Before a single cold email, we built the delivery stack: a custom Flutter application for talent sourcing, a Supabase-backed pipeline for vetting records, n8n workflows for automated onboarding, and AI-assisted scoring to rank candidates consistently. Obelisk was engineered to scale from day one — not retrofitted from a spreadsheet.
Canadian-Incorporated
Obelisk Talent Inc. is a Canadian Business Corporations Act company registered in Nova Scotia, with full extra-provincial registration in Ontario. Canadian clients sign a Canadian contract, receive CAD invoices, and get Canadian consumer protections — no offshore workaround, no invoice translation.
Opened the Network
The talent side opened first across five countries — Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia. The client side followed with founder-led outreach: every first call is with Ali directly, every brief is read by a human engineer, and every match is signed off before it reaches a client shortlist.
