Hire Remote Developers from the Middle East.
Obelisk Talent recruits, vets, and places pre-vetted, full-time Middle Eastern software developers into Canadian SMB engineering teams. We cover full-stack, backend, frontend, mobile, DevOps, and data roles, typically delivering a 2–3-candidate shortlist in 7 days and a Day-1 start within 10 business days of the brief — under one Canadian B2B contract in CAD.

Who this is for
CTOs, Heads of Engineering, and technical founders at scale-ups
If you have engineering roles open longer than 30 days, your Toronto funnel has dried out, or your last offshore attempt fell apart on time-zone or quality, this is the model that fixes both. One developer, full-time, embedded only on your team — not a freelancer juggling five accounts.
The full operational surface, on one contract.
Each component is a self-contained part of the engagement — sourcing, vetting, embedded delivery, and managed HR/payroll all sit on our side.
Sourcing across five Middle Eastern countries
We draw from active developers across Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia who have already opted in to Canadian B2B contracts on an EST-overlapping schedule. Diversification against single-country risk and a deeper matching pool than Egypt-only outsourcing firms.
The Obelisk Vetting Process
Every candidate clears CV review, a role-scoped technical assessment representative of real work, a behavioral interview with the founder, and AI-assisted scoring plus two reference calls before reaching your shortlist. Trade-offs are flagged in the assessment notes.
Embedded delivery, not gig work
Each developer works full-time on your team only — no multi-clienting, no side gigs, no rotation. Your standups, your code reviews, your sprint cadence. Six to seven hours of daily Toronto-time overlap means real-time collaboration, not a 24-hour response loop.
We handle HR, payroll & management
One Canadian B2B contract from Obelisk Talent Inc. CAD-invoiced. Local employment compliance, monthly payroll, equipment provisioning, and ongoing account management all sit on our side. You manage the work; we manage everything else.

How long does it take to hire a developer through Obelisk?
Ten business days from brief to onboarded for typical full-stack, backend, frontend, and DevOps roles. Specialist stacks (machine learning, embedded systems, niche frameworks) can take two to four weeks; we flag the timeline on the discovery call rather than after.
What stacks and frameworks does the network cover?
Mainstream Western web and cloud stacks: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, Go, Java, PostgreSQL, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform. Mobile is React Native, Flutter, Swift, and Kotlin. The five-country pool means we can match almost any modern stack with current production experience.
How does a Cairo-based developer overlap with Toronto working hours?
Developers in our network work a shifted afternoon-to-evening Cairo schedule (roughly 2pm–10pm Cairo time, EEST UTC+3) that overlaps Toronto's 9am–5pm Eastern by 6–7 working hours. Standups, code reviews, and pair programming happen live; deep work happens on either side of the overlap window.
Can the developer participate in our existing on-call rotation?
Yes, when scoped on the discovery call. The shifted schedule actually extends incident-response coverage — your on-call rotation gains hours your local team is asleep without paying for night-shift premiums. We document on-call expectations in the engagement brief.
Does my company own the code and IP the developer produces?
Yes. All work product created during the engagement is assigned to your company on full payment of the corresponding Monthly Fee, per §08 of our Terms of Service. We carry the contractor relationship; you own the deliverables.
Does Obelisk replace a developer if the fit is not right?
Yes. Within the first 30 days of start, we source a replacement at no additional cost — the monthly fee pauses between starts. After 30 days we still replace on request; our retention record depends on it. The guarantee covers fit and performance issues raised in writing during the 30-day window.
Most clients run more than one.
Engagements scale across disciplines under one Master Agreement. These are the services Obelisk clients in your stack usually add next.
