FOR CANADIAN COMPANIES

Pre-Vetted Middle Eastern Talent on One Canadian Contract.

Obelisk Talent is the talent partner Canadian SMBs use when local hiring is too slow, too expensive, or both. We source, vet, place, and manage pre-vetted, full-time Middle Eastern professionals across four disciplines under one Canadian B2B contract — Tech & IT, Marketing & Sales, Creatives, and Finance & Ops — invoiced flat in CAD with HR, payroll, and compliance handled on our side.

THE FOUR PILLARS

What Canadian SMBs actually buy.

Every Obelisk engagement compresses to four guarantees. The rest of the page is just detail.

60–70% less than a comparable local hire

A Toronto senior engineer costs $110–190K in the first year: $80–130K base, about 20% again in benefits and payroll tax, plus a one-time $16–33K recruiter fee. An Obelisk Senior tier engagement runs $42–60K CAD per year all-in, including HR, payroll, and management — $68–130K less in year one. The structural saving holds across every discipline: engineering, marketing, customer service, finance.

Pre-vetted, full-time, embedded only on your team

Every placement clears the four-stage Obelisk Vetting Process — CV review, role-scoped craft assessment, behavioural interview with a co-founder, and AI-assisted scoring plus reference calls. Once placed, the talent is dedicated to one client. No multi-clienting, no rotation, no fractional attention.

10 days from brief to onboarded

A 15-minute discovery call generates a written brief the same day. Two to three pre-vetted candidates land within a week. Contract signed and Day-1 inside 10 calendar days for typical roles. Specialist or rare-stack roles can take longer; we flag that on the discovery call rather than after.

One Canadian B2B contract, in CAD, fully managed

Obelisk Talent Inc. is a Nova Scotia-incorporated CBCA company. You sign one Canadian contract under Canadian law, receive CAD invoices from a Canadian entity, and never deal with international payroll, contractor classification, or currency conversion. Our side handles HR, payroll, compliance, equipment, and account management.

One contract, every discipline.

WHO ENGAGES OBELISK

Three SMB profiles.

Engagements skew toward these patterns. If your company looks roughly like one of them, the math usually works.

SaaS Founder / CTO

The Scaling CTO

You raised in the last six months and have engineering roles open >30 days. Toronto comp is up, your local funnel is dry, and you can’t justify another quarter on this. You’ve probably tried offshore. This isn’t that.

Agency Owner

The Agency Owner

10–25 person digital shop. Client demand is up, local senior designers and engineers cost $90K+, and your margin is being eaten alive. You need specialists in Canadian hours, not generalists at agency rates.

Marketing & Ops Leader

The Specialist Hirer

You’re forcing one generalist to cover paid + content + CRM + analytics — and the work shows. You can hire one specialist per discipline, embedded full-time, for the cost of one local generalist.

How it works

Four steps, ten days.

Discovery call (15 minutes) → written brief same day → sourcing & vetting (5–7 days) → 2–3 pre-vetted candidate shortlist with assessment notes → your interviews → contract signed → Day-1 onboarding. For typical roles, brief to onboarded is 10 days.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

What buyers ask before signing.

If your question isn't here, /faq has the full hub — or every first call is with a co-founder.

How is Obelisk different from a freelancer marketplace, an EOR, or a local recruiter?

Marketplaces give you CVs and leave the vetting to you. EORs handle compliance for talent you have already sourced. Local recruiters charge a 20–25% placement fee and disappear after Day 1. Obelisk combines all three under one flat monthly retainer — sourcing, vetting, placement, employment, payroll, and ongoing management.

What size and stage of company does Obelisk work with?

Five-to-fifty-person Canadian SMBs are the sweet spot — companies past founder-only delivery but without an internal talent acquisition team. Most clients are scale-ups (Series A through B), agencies (10–25 people), and operating SMBs ($1–10M revenue) running lean ops without a Head of People.

Can we start with one role and add more later?

Yes. Most engagements start with one role and expand to three or four within 12 months under the same Master Agreement. Each placement runs on its own monthly tier rate; the contract structure does not change. Volume discounts are negotiated at four or more concurrent placements.

What happens if a hire does not work out?

Within the first 30 days, we replace the hire at no additional cost — the monthly fee pauses between starts. After 30 days, we still replace on request; our retention record depends on it. Replacement covers fit and performance issues raised in writing during the 30-day window.

How does this work legally for a Canadian company?

You sign one Canadian B2B Master Services Agreement under Nova Scotia jurisdiction with Obelisk Talent Inc., a federally incorporated CBCA corporation. The talent itself is contracted by Obelisk in their country of residence — you never carry the international employment relationship. Per §08 of our Terms, all work product is assigned to your company on full payment.

Why Middle Eastern talent rather than Eastern European, LATAM, or Indian?

Time zone, English fluency, and cost-to-quality ratio. Middle Eastern professionals on a shifted afternoon schedule overlap Canadian Eastern by 6–7 working hours daily — better than India or Southeast Asia, on par with LATAM. Salaries run roughly 30–50% lower than Eastern Europe for comparable seniority. English fluency is the working default, not an upgrade.

Bring a Role. We’ll Bring a Shortlist.

15-minute call, written brief same day, shortlist within a week. If none of the candidates are right, we go again — no cost.
